এবারের বিজয়ের প্রকাশ হোক ওয়েব দুনিয়ায়

জাতি হিসেবে আমাদের কাছে ডিসেম্বর মাসের অর্থই অন্য রকম। এ মাসেই যে আমাদের বিজয়ের দিন! অত্যাচার-নিপীড়ন, হত্যা, সাম্রাজ্যবাদী চোখ রাঙানী- সবকিছুকে উপেক্ষা করে আজ হতে চার দশক আগে ডিসেম্বর ১৬, ১৯৭১ জন্ম নেয় এক নবীন শিশু। বাংলাদেশ তার নাম।

'বিজয়ী হয়ে ফিরব, নইলে ফিরবই না'- এই অনন্য প্রতিজ্ঞায় ভর দিয়ে যে দেশের লাখো তরুণ অস্ত্র হাতে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ে, বিজয়তিলক সেদেশের ললাটলিখন হিসেবে অবধারিত হয়ে পড়ে। বিশ শতকের বিশ্ব রাজনীতির বিস্ময় বাংলাদেশের ক্ষেত্রেও তাই ঘটেছে।

কেমন ছিলেন এই তরুণেরা, জাতি সম্মানভরে যাঁদের নাম দিয়েছে মুক্তিযোদ্ধা? রাত জেগে বই পড়ে, ঠিক সময়ে খাওয়া-গোসল না করে, সন্ধ্যার অনেক পরে বাসায় ফিরে মায়ের বকুনি খাওয়া এক একটা আটপৌরে সাদাসিধে ঘরের ছেলে। অথচ, চোখের নিমিষে কেমন করে বদলে গেল তারা! বুকের ভেতরে জ্বলে উঠল অসীম সাহসের আগুন। মুরগি জবাই দেখতে পারতো না যে ছেলে, সেই দীর্ঘ ন'মাস ধরে রক্তের নদীতে সাঁতার কেটেছে! তারা লড়েছেন সেদিন 'সময়ের প্রয়োজনে'।

“সেবার মাধ্যমে বিজয়ের প্রকাশ”

১৬ ই ডিসেম্বর , স্বৈরতন্ত্র আর নিপীড়নের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের বিজয়কে উদযাপন করি আমরা। মহান মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের দীর্ঘ নয়মাসের রক্তক্ষয়ী সংগ্রাম আর প্রচেষ্টা সফল হয় একাত্তরের এই দিনে , আমরা মুক্ত হই।

একবিংশ শতাব্দীর আজকের এই সময়ে আমরা একটি সার্বভৌম জাতি, কোন অত্যাচারী আগ্রাসকের হুমকি দ্বারা আজ আমরা আর বিচলিত নই। তারপরও আমাদেরকে দারিদ্র, সুশিক্ষার অভাব, অশিক্ষা ,দূর্নীতি ইত্যাদির প্রবল উত্পীড়ন আর হুমকির মধে বাস করতে হয়। এবার সময় এসেছে বর্তমান প্রজন্মের একটি উন্নত জীবনের জন্য সংগ্রাম করার।

আমাদের মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা সেই সময় স্বেচ্ছায় দেশের সেবায় সেই কাজটিই করেছিলেন, যা ওই মুহুর্তে ছিল সবচেয়ে প্রয়োজনীয়। এখন আমাদের সময়ে আমাদেরতো স্বেচ্ছাপ্রণোদিত হয়ে সেই সেবামূলক কাজগুলো করতে হবে যা এখন সবচেয়ে প্রয়োজনীয় , যদি সত্যিই আমরা আমাদের মহৎ যোদ্ধাদের চেতনায় ধারণ করি! তাদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানানোর এরচেয়ে প্রকৃত কোন পন্থা আর কি হতে পারে ?

How To Participate

If you are within Bangladesh and a member of an organisation, confirm your organisation's participation by sending us an email. Please add what community service event you will be doing to commemorate the 16th. You can write to us for ideas. After you've confirmed, we'll add your name/logo to the final banner. Please note: all organisations will be working absolutely independently. It will be wonderful if you could just put the slogan in your banner to show we are all united.

If you are within Bangladesh, but not a member of any organisation, contact us and we'll hook you up with a suitable project.

If you are outside of Bangladesh, you can get together a few Bangladeshi friends and contribute to the local Bangali community. If there is none, do something to raise awareness about Tourism Bangladesh. Or you could raise funds (by, for example, donating an hour's salary) and help out a Bangladeshi cause. Let us know if you are participating and we'll help with everything.

What Is It?

On December 16, we celebrate our victory over oppression and dictatorship. On this day in 1971, the nine month struggle of our freedom fighters paid off - we were free!

Today, in the 21st century, we are a sovereign nation, we are no longer threatened by oppressors. However, we live under the oppression and dictatorship of poverty, illiteracy and corruption. It's time for the men and women of this era to take a stand and fight for a better life.

The freedom fighters voluntarily did what was most needed for the country at that time. It is time we voluntarily do what is most needed for the country at this time.

On December 16, let us commemorate the spirit of the freedom fighters with actions and not just with hollow words and songs. Let us commemorate their actions with at least one voluntary act of community service.
